Frank Miller

Frank Miller is an American writer, artist, and film director best known for his dark comic book stories and graphic novels such as 'Ronin', 'Daredevil: Born Again', 'The Dark Knight Returns', 'Sin City' and '300'. He also directed the film version of 'Sin City' and 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For' with Robert Rodriguez and produced the film '300'.

Miller was born in Onley, Maryland, on January 27, 1957, and raised in Montpelier, Vermont, the fifth of seven children of a nurse mother and a carpenter/electrician father. His family was Irish Catholic.

Miller was a fan of comics from an early age, but seeing the stories of their favourite characters are pretty ridiculous and childish, Miller thought the comic books, especially super hero comic books deserves better stories and more mature characters.

Miller worked for Marvel and DC Comics alike in early 80', creating mature stories for characters like Daredevil with 'Death of Elektra' and 'Born Again' and Batman with 'Year One' and the masterpiece 'The Dark Knight Returns'.

It was controversial at the first time, but soon their stories have been praised by critics and fans alike, making a before and an after about making comic book stories. Also raises Miller's status as a celebrity.

Lately he worked alone making his own stories like '300' and 'Ronin', but suddenly he wrote and drew his best story yet, 'Sin City'
The creation of Sin City made again being praised by critics, saying 'Sin City is Miller finest work yet' and it's considered one of the best comic book of all time.

Frank Miller, with Alan Moore, made comic books are appointed as the 9th art.

Currently, Miller is working on a new comic called "The Dark Knight III: The Master Race", sequel of 'The Dark Knight Strikes Again'.
