Morgan
Porterfield Freeman, Jr.
Is an American actor and film director, He is the son of Mayme Edna and Morgan Porterfield Freeman. Born on June 1, 1937 in Memphis, Tennesse. As
a child lived in many places with his grandmother in Charleston, Mississippi and
then with his family in Greenwood, Mississippi, Gary, Indiana and finally
Chicago, Illinois.
He went to Threadgill
Primary school, where
he made his acting debut at age nine,
playing the lead role in a school play. He graduated from Broad Street
High School in Chicago,
and soon turned down a scholarship
to Jackson State University. He decides to work as a mechanic for the Air Force
United States Army.
After four years in the military, he moved to Los Angeles,
California, where he took acting lessons at the Pasadena Playhouse. his first
credited film appearance was in 1971's Who Says I Can't Ride a Rainbow?. He
won one Oscar and two golden globes for best actor.
Freeman
has two children out of marriage, Alfonso Freeman who born in 1960 and Morgana
Freeman who is adopted. He was married to Jeanette Adair Bradshaw (1967-1979)
then he was married to Myrna Colley-Lee (1984-2010)
